Former frontman for The Scene, Andy has been part of the Mod world for decades. Known as the "architect of Modernist Blues" his songs are renowned by fans of pop magic soaked in in the fine traditions of 60s psychedelic soul, , blues revival, Tamla and the UK mod scene from 65 to the present day.
He has been the creative force behind best-selling singles that have resonated across decades - including The Scene's "Something that You Said" which featured on UK chart-topping album "Our Generation - 75 Mod Classics" in 2018.
A rich musical history also includes iconic bands like The London Boys and The Diplomats, cultivating a devoted following among die-hard Mods and vinyl aficionados who are drawn to his unique Modernist Blues genre.
From festivals and halls across the UK and headlining at the revered 100 Club - who also hosted the final gig of The Scene in 2022.
Embarking on a new chapter, Andy Welsh has recently launched a solo career, gracing the music scene with two stellar vinyl 7" releases under the banner of Detour Records, one of the UK's finest indie labels.
Notably, "Feel Good" not only boasts musical brilliance but also accompanies a feature-length movie, skilfully crafted during the recording process by the award-winning filmmaker, Mal Williamson. The film delves into the raw struggles of a working-class artist, providing a candid look behind the scenes.
